Obituary: Dr. Nancy Malcolm, Daughter of Dr. Ken Lovern

Dr. Nancy Malcolm 1962 – 2020

Nancy Malcolm, DDS, age 57 of Jonesboro, died June 1, 2020. She was born at Rosieres-en-Haye, France while here father, Dr. Ken Lovern, was stationed there as an Air Force Dentists. Nancy graduated in 1980 from Jonesboro High School and from Hendrix College in 1984. She graduated top her class from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1997.

After graduating, Nancy began a 4-year stint in the US Navy. She was chosen for a year residency at Bethesda naval Hospital in Washington DC. After that, she served three years at Atsugi Naval Base in Japan. She then joined her father in private practice Jonesboro. She practiced 15 years until a decline in her health.

She is survived by her parents, Dr. Ken Lovern and Ann Lovern and one sister, Katy O’Riley of Marble Falls, Texas, and two children, Ian and Caitlin of Jonesboro.

She was a member of the ADA and ASDA, and attended First Presbyterian Church in Jonesboro. Nancy was a great photographer who did the Jonesboro Band yearbook for three years, donating books to the school. She enjoyed camping, hiking, bicycling and flower gardening. A large part of her downtime was spent enjoying concerts and music festivals. She will be greatly missed by her family and patients.
