Arkansas Mission of Mercy (ArMOM) is a non-profit Arkansas corporation designated as an IRS 501(c)(3) organization. Its federal tax ID number is 26-1611992. ArMOM was established in 2007 by the Arkansas State Dental Association and its partners, primarily Delta Dental of Arkansas and the Arkansas Department of Health, in an effort to address the Arkansas oral health crisis. For the past five years, ArMOM and its partners have embarked on a monumental effort to deliver quality dental care to underserved Arkansans who are most in need, and who would otherwise receive not receive such care. This project is now planning for its sixth annual initiative in April 2012. ArMOM recognizes the need to increase Arkansans’ access to oral health services and has succeeded in doing so at each annual event. Along with its clinical focus, ArMOM also provides education for all attendees on oral hygiene, water fluoridation and tobacco prevention and cessation.

Since its inception in 2007, ArMOM has successfully improved access to crucial oral health care services by uninsured and underserved Arkansans. Each year, patients often spend many hours, including camping out on the streets overnight, to access this valuable program and receive dental care that they otherwise would not receive.

The true collaboration for ArMOM is evidenced by the outpouring of support from dental professionals and lay volunteers from across the state, who freely donate many hours of their time each year. These volunteers not only give their time, but receive no compensation and must fund their own travel and lodging expenses.

ArMOM would not be possible without its donors and many dedicated volunteers. The annual two-day clinic is funded entirely through corporate and individual donations, and is staffed by hundreds of dental professionals and civilian volunteers.
