SALES AND USE TAX ON DENTAL APPLIANCES REPEALED!

by Drew on June 5, 2013

ASDA led the effort to pass Act 1414: “An Act to create an exemption from the sales and use tax for dental appliances sold by or to dentists or certain other professionals”

Dear ASDA Member,

During the course of the 89th General Assembly (2013), ASDA was successful in leading the effort to repeal the longstanding sales and use tax on dental appliances.  While Act 1414 (Senate Bill 853) passed in 2013, the effective date is not until July 2014.

Over the coming months, ASDA will reveal to you how we worked with key legislators including Sen. Larry Teague (sponsor), Rep. Deborah Ferguson (ASDA member), Sen. Jake Files, Rep. Charlie Collins and others on your behalf.

With the passing of Sine Die (official adjournment of the Arkansas Legislature) and the recent notice sent to many dentists by the Department of Finance Administration, ASDA is ready to share this good news with you.

It is the hope of ASDA that you will find true membership value in the savings this bill now affords you and your patients. Your membership dues made this possible.

For more information in the meantime, please contact Billy Tarpley or Drew Ramey at the ASDA headquarters.
