The ASDA has received numerous inquiries about incentive payments or reimbursements to help offset the cost associated with implementing an electronic health record system. We are aware of this type of program for Medicaid providers in Arkansas. To know if you qualify, the first criteria would be that you are a Medicaid enrolled provider. If the answer is no, stop here. If you are a Medicaid enrolled provider (or would like to be) continue.
To qualify for an incentive payment under the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, a dentist or dental specialist must meet one of the following criteria:
- Have a minimum 30% Medicaid patient volume*
- Practice predominantly in a Federally Qualified Health Center or Rural Health Center and have a minimum 30% patient volume attributable to needy individuals*
* Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) patients do not count toward the Medicaid patient volume criteria.
Next, take the basic eligibility test at CMS for providers (If you qualify, you’ll be led to the CMS registration area. Prepare to have your Medicaid user ID and password handy.)
Once CMS registration is completed, you’ll need to register directly through the Arkansas Medicaid portal for the Medical Assistance Provider Incentive Repository (MAPIR). To begin MAPIR registration, click the following link (have your Medicaid user ID and password handy):
