Obituary: Dr. Doffie Jarvis of Jonesboro

Doffie JarvisU.S. Veteran Dr. Doffie Neal Jarvis, 83, of Jonesboro went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 at Lexington Place Nursing and Rehab. He was born on July 25th, 1934 to the late Noble and Ethel Jarvis in Jacksonport.

Doffie lived in Jonesboro for over 50 years and was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher as well as a deacon. Dr. Jarvis practiced dentistry in Jonesboro for over 40 years and was also a member of the Gideons as well as the Jonesboro Jaycees. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tending to his garden and doing mission work for the church. Dr. Jarvis also served in our nation’s Air Force and retired as a Captain.

In addition to his parents, Doffie is preceded in death by his sister, Alice Edgin.

Dr. Jarvis is survived by his loving wife, Pat, of the home; daughters, Linda (Harold) Wilson of Jonesboro and Suzanne (Tommy) Ames of Bentonville; brother, Charles (Joyce) Jarvis of Newport; brother in law, Bill Chmelar of Washington, Iowa; grandchildren, Brandon (Cari) Cooper, Brett (Lindsey) Cooper, Brooke (Matt) Love, Whitney (Timothy) Welch, and Tanner Wilson as well as 6 great-grandchildren.
