ASDA General Assembly Encourages Change to Continuing Education Proposal

by Billy Tarpley on September 21, 2017

In a called meeting of the ASDA General Assembly on Friday, September 15, the membership voted to recommend that the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners amend the proposed number of in-person continuing education hours from 30 in each reporting period to 15. The law requires that dentists earn a minimum of 50 hours of CE for each 2-year licensure period.

It was noted that the original proposal, which was referred back to the board by the Legislative Council, has been assigned to the board’s Committee on Rules and Regulations. It is highly possible that the proposal will remain there while the board deals with other new rules brought about by legislation from the 2017 Arkansas General Assembly.
